Bring order to the deck

Card Developer FRVR Publisher FRVR

Put two decks in order by building same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. Complete a run to remove it from the table, uncover more cards and work toward clearing the whole layout. Choose one, two or four suits to set the difficulty, and deal a fresh row from the stock when you need new options. Every move can open space for your next sequence.

How to Play Spider Solitaire

The aim of Spider Solitaire is to clear the board by building complete sequences from King down to Ace. Unlike classic Solitaire, Spider is usually played with two decks and focuses on organising cards across ten tableau columns.

Cards can be placed in descending order, but multiple cards can only be moved together when they form a descending sequence in the same suit. Complete a full same-suit sequence from King to Ace, and it will be removed from the board.

If you're new to the game, see our complete guide to setting up and playing Spider Solitaire for a more detailed explanation of the classic rules.

Spider Solitaire 1 Suit, 2 Suits and 4 Suits

Spider FRVR can be played at different difficulty levels:

  • 1 Suit: The easiest version and ideal for learning the game.
  • 2 Suits: Adds more planning, as mixed-suit sequences cannot be moved together.
  • 4 Suits: The most challenging version, requiring careful management of all four suits.

Spider Solitaire Strategy

Good Spider Solitaire strategy is all about keeping your options open. Try to uncover face-down cards, create empty columns, and build same-suit sequences whenever possible. It is also worth making as many useful moves as you can before dealing another row from the stock.

Spider FAQ

What is the goal of Spider Solitaire?
The goal in Spider FRVR is to clear the board by building complete sequences from King down to Ace in the same suit. When you complete a full sequence, it is removed from the tableau. Clear all the cards to win the game.
What is the difference between 1 Suit, 2 Suit and 4 Suit Spider Solitaire?
The number of suits determines the difficulty. 1 Suit is the easiest version, 2 Suits adds an extra challenge, and 4 Suits is the most difficult. The basic rules stay the same, but organising complete same-suit sequences becomes harder as more suits are added.
Can you stack different suits in Spider Solitaire?
Yes. Cards can be placed in descending order even when they are from different suits. However, groups of cards can only be moved together when they form a descending sequence of the same suit. Building same-suit sequences wherever possible will therefore give you more freedom to move cards around the board.
When should you deal new cards in Spider Solitaire?
It's usually best to make as many moves as possible before dealing another row from the stock. New cards are added across the tableau and can cover sequences you have already started building, so uncovering hidden cards and organising the board first can make the game easier.
