Embark Studios has warned players to stop trying to play its popular multiplayer game Arc Raiders at the time of writing. While the game has largely been smooth sailing for its 12 million players since launch, the extraction shooter is currently undergoing major issues.

For the past few hours, Arc Raiders server issues have caused the game to become unplayable for many with unstable connections causing erratic movement, desync issues and more. Players are currently reporting that they are dying to non-existent enemies as well as low-tier foes as it is currently almost impossible to play the game.

In a statement to fans on Discord, Embark confirmed they “are aware of the server issues” currently plaguing the game. Additionally, “the team is investigating” and will keep players posted of the situation on official channels.

Embark has confirmed that the issues are being caused by a mass DDOS (direct denial of service) attack towards their games. This means that nefarious groups are slamming the Arc Raiders and The Finals servers with high amounts of traffic which results in outages and other issues.

“Both ARC Raiders and THE FINALS have been under extensive, co-ordinated DDoS attacks.
The strike team has been working hard on mitigations and solutions to fix the problem, and we are making good progress – but at this point in time the attacks are still ongoing,” the team explained on Discord.

Additionally, the team announced that, when the servers are back and running as intended, a new hotfix will be released to solve unintended changes made in the game’s recent patch. These include undocumented nerfs towards a few weapons.

While the team can’t promise a release due to the ongoing server attacks, the Arc Raiders hotfix should go live “later today” if it can be. However, considering the nature of DDOS attacks, the patch’s release may slip into tomorrow.

For now, to avoid losing out on your loot, its wise to avoid logging into the game while the Arc Raiders server issues are still ongoing. While you can still play the game, you will likely just end up losing any items you go topside with.
