Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactiveโ€™s latest chapter for the asymmetric horror game is a bold new idea for the almost ten-year-old horror game. Chapter 39, All-Kill Comeback, is a substantial remake of Chapter 19: All-Kill that also comes with new content.

As a sequel/remake to the now-retired Chapter 19, All-Kill Comeback might be the start of a new initiative of content reworks for Dead by Daylight. Similar to how World of Warcraft is using new expansions to overhaul old locations like Silvermoon, DBD may see additional remakes in the future that brings old content up to snuff for current players.

Speaking to PCGamesN, creative director Dave Richard explained that the team would โ€œlove toโ€ continue remaking older DBD content in the future. While the creative director โ€œcanโ€™t promiseโ€ if additional chapter reworks are in development, it seems like they may be sporadic instead of regular occurrences.

“I personally would love to do it again with more original Chapters as I feel there’s so many stories left to be told,” Richard said. Right now, the majority of fans agree that so-called โ€œrevival chaptersโ€ are a good idea for frequent releases, especially as older chapters become retired.

Despite the fact that Behaviour Interactive is remaking All-Kill with All-Kill Comeback, the new chapter still has some limitations that are holdovers from the original version. For example, the gameโ€™s original survivor, Lee Yun-jin, is still completely voiceless with Richards saying he โ€œwould love for every character to have voice linesโ€, but it wasnโ€™t on the cards this time.

As the game reaches its 10th anniversary this June, Dead by Daylight will be releasing its 40th chapter, likely alongside a slew of new codes for free Bloodpoints and the like. While we donโ€™t know whatโ€™s coming later this year to celebrate 10 years of multiplayer horror, fans are expecting something big.

As for Dead by Daylight Chapter 39: All-Kill Comeback, the new content drop is currently scheduled to release on 17 March 2026 across PC and console.
