Arc Raiders’ anti-cheat situation is turning into a clear disconnect between developers and the community. Embark says it’s working, but many players aren’t convinced. Some parts of the community believe that the “AI anti-cheat” is to blame for the cheating situation in the game, and this includes Ninja, one of the most popular streamers.
Ninja, who rose to fame playing Fortnite last decade, is not a big fan of Embark’s anti-cheat system. He claims that the developers are clueless and don’t know what they are doing, which is why the game has so many cheaters.
Does Arc Raiders use AI anti-cheat?
Arc Raiders uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), which is a widely known anti-cheat service. This service is used by hundreds of other popular games, from battle royales like Apex Legends to sports simulations like NBA 2K26. However, Embark also utilizes AI to monitor in-game actions and flag unusual behavior.
The combination of anti-cheat methods in Arc Raiders has caused a lot of controversy, with many players claiming they were banned without any reason. The developer, on the other hand, believes that the anti-cheat is working as intended, which is something the community doesn’t always agree with.
“These developers are clueless, they don’t know what they’re doing,” Ninja said on his recent stream, slamming Arc Raiders’ anti-cheat. “They have some AI anti-cheat, and they think it [expletive] covers everything,” the streamer added.

On one hand, Ninja may have a point, as it’s impossible to ban every single cheater. On the other hand, Embark has banned large numbers of cheaters and enforced progressive bans.
Anti-cheat remains an arms race between developers and cheat creators. While the Arc Raiders creator tries to catch every cheater, cheat developers constantly adapt, finding new ways around detection systems. As a result, the extraction shooter is bound to have a few undetected cheaters every once in a while.
Embark does not rely only on anti-cheat and bans
To their credit, Embark isn’t relying on bans alone. The developer has implemented systems for restoring lost loot for players negatively impacted by cheaters, shifting the focus from punishment to damage control. While this allows players to be fairly compensated, it also indirectly acknowledges that cheating still happens.
While blaming poor cheater detection on AI has been a popular topic in the Arc Raiders community, Embark doesn’t appear to rely too heavily on it. In fact, the game creator even replaced AI-generated voices with human actors earlier this year.
The Arc Raiders anti-cheat debate isn’t going away anytime soon. As the game grows, Embark will have to keep adapting and finding new methods to get rid of cheaters. Ultimately, how the development team handles cheaters and false bans will remain a test of trust.
In other news, Embark released the Arc Raiders 1.23.0 patch after a short delay, bringing numerous bug fixes and a new set. The developer is working on adding more maps to Arc Raiders in 2026, and the next one will come out in April.
