Sandfall Interactive’s debut title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially sold 4.4 Million copies across PC, Xbox Series and PS5.

Released earlier this year, Sandfall’s modern Unreal Engine 5 turn-based RPG launched as a resounding success, quickly crossing over a million copies despite the game’s Game Pass launch across PC and Xbox.

After just 12 days of release, Sandfall confirmed that the game managed to sell over 2 million copies. A later update revealed the game had sold 3.3 million copies across all platforms, but it seems that sales are still climbing as the game’s hype refuses to die down.

In a video interview with French streamer Antoine Daniel, marketing and release producer Benjamin Dimanche, hair and technical character artist Amandine Marest, and senior gameplay programmer Florian Torres confirmed that the game has crossed over 4 million sales.

“Officially, 3.3 million, but it’s 4.4 million,” the game’s senior gameplay programmer explained.

The launch of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 did extraordinarily well for a AA game despite the game’s Game Pass launch. Since release, Sandfall Interactive has added some additional content, and the studio is already planning its next release.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, chief operating officer and producer, François Meurisse confirmed that another game is in the works, simply saying: “There will be another video game, for sure.”
