The latest Fortnite update arrived on Thursday, February 19, and Epic Games added lots of new cosmetics with it. While the highlight of the update is the Solo Leveling collaboration, the game developer also added a new Sidekick, Woodsy. The Sidekick is also available as a back bling, which is why Epic is sending it for free to eligible players.

Fortnite has sent out a couple of free Sidekicks over the past few months and likely won’t be the last. Now, let’s check out why players have received the new pet and how to know who is eligible for it.

Who can receive a free Woodsy Sidekick in Fortnite?

Originally, Epic Games released Woodsy as a pet back bling in February 2019. The pet was released in the Chapter 1 – Season 8 Battle Pass and players needed to reach tier 19 to get it. Woodsy had two additional styles, which were unlocked on tier 35 and 83 respectively.

Now, seven years later, Woodsy was turned into a Sidekick. As a result, all the players who own the back bling will receive a Sidekick for free. Epic started granting it Friday night, and distribution should finish within 24 hours.

Lately, Epic has also sent out Bonesy, Remus, and Kitsune Sidekicks to eligible players. Since Fortnite has a couple more pet back blings, we expect the game developer to send all of them for free to players who own them.

If you don’t more cosmetics without spending V-Bucks, you can unlock free skins in Fortnite. You can also use some of the best Fortnite XP maps to level up quickly and complete the current pass, as it also has a couple of free rewards.
