Fortnite players will soon have another way to revive themselves, according to a new leak. A massive gameplay change is coming to the popular battle royale game, likely at some point in Chapter 7. This is similar to the Gulag mechanic, which was popularized by Call of Duty: Warzone.
Unsurprisingly, Fortnite won’t have the exact same mechanic. Instead of two players fighting against each other in close-quarters combat, Epic Games will put a unique twist on it. Fortnite is taking a more lighthearted approach and adding minigames, and we can’t wait to see it all in action!
Gulag is coming to Fortnite, and it will be amazing
Fortnite Chapter 7 brought several big improvements to the reboot system, allowing players to return to action more easily. Reboot Vans are now drivable, and downed players can perform some new moves to survive longer. On top of this, self-revive was added to the game, and it’s one of the best items.
However, all of this may be replaced by a new mechanic soon. According to Hypex, a reputable leaker, Gulag will come to Fortnite soon. Epic Games will put a fun twist to it, and instead of intense gunfights, players will play minigames against each other, like rock-paper-scissors or shockwaves fighting.

Epic is no stranger to experimenting with Fortnite. The game has gone through numerous drastic changes over the past eight years, and the latest chapter made the game feel fresh and new. While the release date of Gulag hasn’t been revealed or leaked yet, we expect Fortnite leakers to publish more details about it in early 2026.
