Fortnite Chapter 7 – Season 2 was originally scheduled to launch on March 5, but that is no longer the case. The season has been delayed by two weeks, and in the meantime, Epic Games has begun teasing it. A recent post by the game’s X account hinted at a couple of major map changes, which will likely arrive with the Season 2 launch.
The teaser appeared in a promotional video for new Rick and Morty skins, which are set to arrive on Friday, March 6. Epic subtly teased map changes with this video, including an iceberg that may also appear in a live event.
Season 2 will bring major map changes in Fortnite
With the release of a new Fortnite season, Epic Games will once again change a big part of the island. While the season won’t introduce an entirely new map, it should change at least a quarter of it, as has been the case with previous seasons. Due to this, we can expect a new biome, and the latest teaser shows that it might be a snow biome.
The promotional video shows an iceberg approaching the island, which hints at a snow biome. In late February, Epic teased a new POI that looks similar to Polar Peak, and the iceberg will likely bring it to the map. Furthermore, the iceberg may also be included in a season-ending live event, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Besides the iceberg, the video shows a purple river, which could also be a gameplay feature. Back in the second season of Chapter 5, Epic added a green river, and stepping into it boosted player mobility. The purple river might have a similar effect, and we might get more information about it before the release of Chapter 7 – Season 2.
Before the new season launches, you can unlock several free Fortnite skins or use the best XP maps to level up quickly and unlock free cosmetics. Don’t forget to check the new Battle Pass leak and see what skins will come in Season 2.
