Epic Games has launched a new Fortnite community contest, and this one gives players a chance to directly shape the game. For a limited time, players can create their own Sprite design, submit it online, and potentially see it added to Fortnite as an official in-game creature.
The contest is called Design A Sprite, and it marks the return of Concept Royale with a Chapter 7 Season 3 twist. Instead of designing a skin, players are being asked to create original Sprite concepts. Epic will select three winners, and each winning designer will receive a $2,500 cash prize and the opportunity to have their Sprite added to Fortnite.

How to enter Fortnite’s Design A Sprite contest
To enter the Design A Sprite contest, players need to create an original Sprite design and post it publicly online. Submissions can be made on X, Instagram, TikTok, or Reddit. Participants posting on social media need to use the #DesignASprite hashtag. Reddit submissions must be posted on r/FortniteBR with the Design A Sprite flair.
Epic is allowing players to submit up to two original Sprite designs. The contest is open for a limited time and ends on July 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET, so players only have a short window to get their ideas in front of the Fortnite team.
It’s important to note that all the Sprite submissions must be original. In addition to their design, they need to have a Fortnite vibe, so players need to design Sprites that actually look like they belong in the game. Epic will judge submissions on three equal categories: unique use of theme, fun factor, and overall visuals. Each category is worth up to five points.
AI-generated Sprites will likely be disqualified, as Epic prohibits “the use of any automated devices.” The company has released detailed rules on Fortnite’s website.
