While fans still wait for the long-delayed port of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, developer FromSoftware is also hard at work on its upcoming exclusive multiplayer game: The Duskbloods.
Announced alongside Nintendo’s new handheld last year, The Duskbloods is a PvPvE soulslike title set in a dark gothic world where vampires exist. (Sit down, Code Vein, we’re talking about good games here.)
In a recent financial report, FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa promised that both The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will release sometime this year on the Nintendo platform, but they are not confirming a release date right now.
Found in the “future outlook” section of the company’s presentation, Kadokawa confirmed that FromSoftware currently has “multiple titles in the development pipeline” at various stages, including Elden Ring’s new version, The Duskbloods, and additional DLC for Elden Ring: Nightreign.
In the report, Kadokawa explained that they “have yet to announce a specific release date” for the new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, but explained that the “title will only be available for the Nintendo Switch 2”, shutting down the idea of future ports to PC or other platforms.
Additionally, the studio did not announce a date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition which was delayed due to performance problems. “At this point we have yet to announce a specific release date. Therefore, we have not disclosed whether it will be included in the outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026,” the company said.
Furthermore, Kadokawa did not reveal any information on other games that FromSoftware has in development at the time of writing. However, FromSoftware does have one other title in development known under the codename “FMC”.
Reported by MP1ST last year, FMC is in development for a multiplatform release, although it’s not known what type of game the title is. Right now, it’s suggested that the in-development game is either a remake or continuation of the Dark Souls or Armoured Core series as both franchises have followed that naming convention for their earlier entries’ codenames.
