Grand Theft Auto 6 is primed to release later this year, provided everything goes well. With Rockstar Games working full steam ahead on GTA 6, the game is likely set to break records when it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series this November.

As players wonder whether or not the game is actually releasing this year, GTA V Lester actor Jay Klaitz explains that it doesn’t matter when the game releases as it will blow minds no matter what.

Speaking to ElDorado.gg in a recent interview, the actor explained that GTA 6 director of production Rod Edge is “just so f**king cool”, adding that “he does the job and does it right.”

“The people on the ground, in the room, making that game day to day are solid people,” the actor continued. “There’s always good people all around, especially Rod though. When he’s at the helm, good things happen, because Klaitz things come from him.”

As for the worries of a delay, Klaitz explained that “the longer Rockstar take to make GTA VI and give guys like Rod the time they need, the cooler it’s going to be. It could have been another month or another five months or six months or whatever. It’s going to be cool.”

Another worry surrounding GTA 6 is that the game will cost more than other games on the market simply due to the fact that it’s a new Grand Theft Auto game. The rumour mill claims that the game could cost as much as $100 USD on launch, but Rockstar has not announced any plans to charge more than the market trend for its open world game.

As for Klaitz, the actor explained that he wouldn’t pay $100 for the game, even if it will be the coolest game ever. “I wouldn’t [pay $100 for it].I’m chasing my two kids around. You know I’m thrilled if even once a week I get to sit down and jam one evening, but not for an evening,” the actor said. “The reality is I don’t have enough time to give a game to warrant dropping 100 bills on it,” they continued.

Klaitz expects that Rockstar will end up releasing the game at the usual market price, instead making additional revenue on GTA 6 Online. “I think that would probably be the Lester way. I think that’d be the Lester move. Reel them in first, get them hooked,” he said.

“The Jay Klaitz move would probably be to keep prices at a level where the game is accessible to all players, but that’s the romantic in me. I also realize that’s not the reality of what will happen.”

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. A PC version of the game is planned, but won’t be released alongside its console counterparts.
