Will Marvel Rivals cross-progression arrive with PS4 release?

Marvel Rivals cross-progression

,

Marvel Rivals cross-progression is one of the most requested features by the community. With Season 4, NetEase will release the hero shooter to PlayStation 4, allowing millions of new players to try the game out. While this is certainly great news for PS4 owners, it also puts pressure on the game developer to enable cross-progression.

At the moment, Marvel Rivals does have cross-play, and it is enabled in quick matches. Thanks to this, PC players can team up with their friends who are on Xbox or PlayStation. However, the game does not have cross-progression, but this might change soon.

Is Marvel Rivals adding cross-progression in Season 4?

On Friday, NetEase will make Marvel Rivals available on PlayStation 4, Sony’s last-generation console. The game will run at 1080p at 30 frames per second on the base console, while the Pro version will support 1440p with 60 FPS. Unfortunately, players who decided to upgrade at some point may not be able to keep their progress.

As of the last day of Season 3.5, Marvel Rivals does not have cross-progression. This feature, however, has been discussed by NetEase, which is why we hope it will arrive soon.

In early August, shortly before the release of Season 3.5, NetEase held the first Ask the Devs event in Discord. This event allowed players to ask questions, and the first topic was cross-progression. The event concluded on August 22, and considering that the community has asked for the feature, it may arrive soon.

Other than the Discord event, NetEase hasn’t revealed anything about implementing cross-progression in Marvel Rivals. However, we are less than 24 hours away from the release of Season 4, and cross-progression might be a pleasant surprise.

Even if this feature doesn’t arrive with Season 4, we expect it to be released at some point. Marvel Rivals has become very popular, attracting millions of players over the past nine months. Due to this, implementing the feature makes a lot of sense, as it would have a positive effect on the community. Furthermore, NetEase could potentially sell even more cosmetic items if players are allowed to use them on multiple gaming systems at once.
