Marvel Rivals will finally fix ranked matchmaking

Season 4 of Marvel Rivals is less than 24 hours away, and many players are excited about it. They will be able to get their hands on Angela, a new Vanguard, for the first time, and use her to get a victory. While the hype is certainly high, it won’t die anytime soon.

To keep players excited about the future, NetEase also revealed a fix for ranked matchmaking. Considering that this has been one of the biggest complaints from the community, it’s great to hear that the game developer will do something about it.

Marvel Rivals will fix one of the biggest issues with ranked matchmaking

While against the rules, smurfing is prevalent in Marvel Rivals. In addition to this, many players have complained about bad teammates who either refuse to adapt to the team composition or lose games on purpose. Fortunately, NetEase has an idea of how to fix this.

The game developer will bring placement matches in the future, which is something that the community has asked for. Essentially, every player will have to go through these matches in ranked before receiving their starting rank. For example, players who win nine out of 10 games and have exceptional performances may start their ranked journey in Platinum, while those with a 20% win rate could be put in Bronze or Silver.

Unfortunately, placement matches will not arrive with the release of Marvel Rivals Season 4. The game creator is still developing and testing this feature, so it’s not ready for release yet. However, there is a good chance that we get it with Season 4.5, which is scheduled to come out on October 10.

This will be one of the most significant changes in Marvel Rivals, and we can’t wait to see how it plays out. Implementing placement matches won’t solve all the problems with ranked gameplay, but it’s a big step in the right direction.
