The first Marvel Rivals Season 7 update is set to come out on Thursday, March 16, and it brings major buffs and nerfs, as NetEase revealed in patch notes. The update aims to balance the game by nerfing a couple of characters while giving a boost to the newest hero, White Fox.

In addition to the buffs and nerfs, NetEase has revealed more information about the upcoming content, including a new free skin.

Marvel Rivals patch notes reveal new buffs and nerfs

The upcoming Marvel Rivals update will change all the three heroes released in 2026. Deadpool, who was the first hero added this year, is getting a mobility nerf, as well as a new cooldown. Elsa Bloodstone, one of the most controversial characters in Marvel Rivals, is getting another downgrade, as her survivability takes a big hit. Finally, White Fox will receive a buff.

Deadpool

• Slightly reduced Deadpool’s mobility
  • “We noticed some players using extreme inputs to execute a rapid cycle combo of Kick@$$ Katanas -> Hazardous Hijinks -> Bunny Hop. This change will limit the burst potential of these extreme maneuvers while having almost no impact on players using normal inputs”
• Added a 0.5 second cooldown on Bunny Bounce (Vanguard), Bunny Hop (Duelist), and Healing Hop after a successful refresh

Elsa Bloodstone

• Reduced base health from 275 to 250

White Fox

• Upon respawning or exiting Kumiho Unleashed (Ultimate Ability), White Fox will now gain full stacks of Spirit Tail energy
• Spectral Surge New Effect: Casting this ability now provides 50 healing to White Fox
• Reduce the One-Time Healing provided by Spirit Sanctuary from 70 to 50
  • New Effect: While the shield is active, it now provides 20/s Healing Over Time to allies (including White Fox) within the shield’s range
• During Kumiho Unleashed (Ultimate Ability), casting Blessed by the Nine no longer consumes White Fox’s Health
  • Blessed by the Nine now has a 2s cooldown

Marvel Rivals will celebrate April Fool’s Day with the upcoming patch as well, giving players an opportunity to earn free cosmetics. The annual tradition will have a three-day event, and everyone who logs in will get the Jeff the Land Shark – Jeff Rodeo emote and title for free.

In addition to these free cosmetics, NetEase will add a Flight Mode Vol. 2 event with three new skins for Magik, Star-Lord, and Namor. Namor’s skin is free, and anyone can unlock it by simply leveling up and earning XP. All these three characters will also appear at the underground disco in Times Square.

Finally, the new patch brings new skins for Cloak & Dagger and Captain America. These will be available starting Friday, March 27, at 2 AM UTC.
