S-Tier Units

Alocard (Vampire King) dominates due to his excellent damage output, versatility, and strong scaling โ€“ he remains effective across both wave-clearing and boss fights. Cha-In (Blade Dancer) offers massive AoE damage and crowd control, which is invaluable in many high-difficulty stages. Igros (Elite Knight) is also extremely powerful, combining durability and wide reach in attacks, making him a go-to in many team compositions.

Song Jinwu (Monarch) stands out as a summoner type with high synergy with support units, allowing players to build resilient compositions. Haruka Rin (Dancer) provides support and buffs that amplify other units, enabling them to perform at higher levels. Other S-Tier names like Isdead (Romantic) and Yehowach (Almighty) boast both raw power and often useful passives that help mitigate weaknesses, which keeps them on top of most matches.

A-Tier Units

Units in A-Tier are very strong but often require more specific team setups or higher investment to reach their potential. Akazo (Destructive) has high damage and niche utility but lacks some of the survivability or AoE coverage to match S-Tier picks. Obita (Awakened) can control crowds and delay enemies, which is incredibly useful, but falls slightly behind in outright damage when compared to the best.

Noruto (Six Tails) and Vogita Super (Awakened) perform excellently in burst or specialized roles. They shine when playing to their strengths, but are less forgiving when forced into general or mixed content. Chaso (Blood Curse) brings sustained damage over time and good synergies, yet is more vulnerable to map or enemy designs that punish weaker defenses or lack of burst.

B-Tier Units

B-Tier units are solid choices, especially early to mid-game, or in playersโ€™ secondary teams. Agony has useful crowd control and utility, but its damage and scaling are not quite enough to push into higher tiers without support. Kinaru and Itochi are good single-target damage dealers or for specific map utility, but they lack strong AoE or trait synergies that many meta teams depend upon.

Alligator, Bean, Blossom etc., bring niche benefits (like slowing enemies, specific trait bonuses) which can allow good performance in the right circumstances, although in late game content they tend to be outclassed in key stats like DPS, range or effect durations.

C-Tier Units

Units in this tier are acceptable fillers or early game options, but will be replaced as you unlock better upgrades. They typically suffer from low evolution potential, weak traits, limited AoE, or slow scaling. Pickleo, Genas, Genitsu, and others might serve until you access stronger units. For instance, Joe and Jon have very limited utility, often outpaced by nearly any epic or mythic unit in damage or effectiveness.

Even Noruto (Sage) and Roku (Angel), when unevolved (though thematic), are weak without serious upgrades. These units may work in easier maps or to save resources, but are not competitive in tougher challenges.

D-Tier Units

These units are generally to be avoided unless for collectors, filler content, or when youโ€™re just starting out. Gaari and Luffo have minimal impact, as their damage, effects, or traits are weak, and they scale poorly. Mimi (Psychic) and others with rare or basic variants often lack survivability or utility. Once enemies start having status effects, resistance, or high HP, they become a liability rather than an asset.

Units in this tier require either heavy investment (often not worth it) or very forgiving game content. As you unlock better, higher rarity, and better trait units, there is almost always a swap to make.

Best Team Compositions in Anime Vanguards

We have listed several team comps that you can try, based on your progression level in the game. This will let you slowly build out your team and quickly and easily progress through the levels.

Beginner or Budget Team

This team is designed for new players who donโ€™t have access to high-tier mythics yet. It mixes damage, crowd control, and filler AoE, giving you enough strength to clear story mode and build resources to get upgrades. While these units wonโ€™t scale well into the late game, theyโ€™re accessible and reliable enough to get you started.

  • Itochi (B-Tier) โ€“ Solid single-target damage dealer thatโ€™s easy to get early.
  • Pickleo (C-Tier) โ€“ Budget AoE coverage that helps deal with swarms until you can pull stronger units.
  • Blossom (B-Tier) โ€“ Provides utility and a bit of extra DPS for beginner setups.
  • Agony (B-Tier) โ€“ A good crowd control unit to help stall enemies in early levels.
  • Any healer/support (like Orehimi) โ€“ Helps survivability, especially when your damage is lower.

Mid-Game Team

This setup balances burst damage, support buffs, and crowd control. Itโ€™s stronger than beginner builds because it introduces synergy units like Haruka Rin, who makes everyone better, and Chaso, who punishes tougher enemies with DOT. With this comp, you can handle infinite mode and early raid content with far more ease.

  • Sosuke (Storm, A-Tier) โ€“ Versatile DPS that offers great consistency.
  • Obita (Awakened, A-Tier) โ€“ Strong crowd control and good damage, perfect for mid-game content.
  • Chaso (Blood Curse, A-Tier) โ€“ Adds damage-over-time utility that can shred bosses.
  • Haruka Rin (Dancer, S-Tier) โ€“ Brings buffs and team synergy, elevating your main carries.
  • Gujo (Infinity, A-Tier) โ€“ Helps extend your teamโ€™s presence with his unique support role.

Late-Game Meta Team

This late-game lineup is designed for maximum efficiency and survivability. It combines Alocardโ€™s burst, Yehowachโ€™s overwhelming raw damage, and Cha-Inโ€™s AoE lockdown, supported by Haruka Rinโ€™s buffs and Igrosโ€™ tankiness. Together, this team is versatile enough for raids, PvP, and infinite scaling modes, cementing it as a top-tier meta choice.

  • Alocard (Vampire King, S-Tier) โ€“ The centerpiece DPS with incredible burst and scaling.
  • Yehowach (Almighty, S-Tier) โ€“ A powerhouse unit that deals devastating damage and pairs well with almost any comp.
  • Igros (Elite Knight, S-Tier) โ€“ A durable frontline option who can handle waves and protect squishier allies.
  • Cha-In (Blade Dancer, S-Tier) โ€“ One of the best AoE controllers, preventing enemy swarms from overwhelming your team.
  • Haruka Rin (Dancer, S-Tier) โ€“ Still essential as a buffer, making your heavy hitters perform at maximum power.

Our tier list will help you understand which units should be your top priority, which ones are good backups, and which are safe to ignore. Building your primary team around S-Tier and solid A-Tier units will let you tackle nearly all content effectively, while using B-Tier for situational roles.
