If you’re digging deep into the vast underworld of The Forge on Roblox and are looking to dominate both in the mines and in combat, you know that your weapon is everything. Choosing the right tool can dramatically boost your DPS and overall efficiency. Since the game’s mechanics often favour attack speed over raw damage for maximizing DPS, you have to find a careful balance between the two. Thatโ€™s why we’ve compiled the ultimate The Forge best weapons tier list to help you decide which legendary piece of equipment you should be pouring your hard-earned ores into.ย

The Forge Weapon Tier List

Our tier list ranks weapons from S to D-Tier, based on their raw combat potential, taking into account Base Damage, Attack Speed, Range, and overall DPS for standard crafting outcomes. Remember that a great roll on a slightly lower-tier weapon can still outperform a poor roll on a top-tier one, but this ranking reflects the consistent potential of each weapon type.

TierWeapons
S-TierChaos, Dragon Slayer, Tachi
A-TierSkull Crusher, Hammer, Cutlass, Uchigatana
B-TierGreat Sword, Scythe, Rapier, Double Battle Axe
C-TierCrusader’s Sword, Falchion Sword, Relevator, Long Sword
D-TierIronhand, Boxing Gloves, Dagger

S-Tier Weapons

These weapons represent the absolute pinnacle of combat efficiency in The Forge. If you manage to craft one of these using high-multiplier ores, you’re set for the late-game grind.

Chaos (Straight Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Straight Sword
  • Base Damage: 9.375
  • Attack Speed: 0.59 seconds
  • Range: 8 studs
  • DPS: 15.89

The Chaos Straight Sword is widely considered a powerhouse, dominating the DPS race thanks to its incredible attack speed paired with great base damage. Itโ€™s an exceptionally rare drop, but worth the grind for its sheer killing power. Additionally, it excels with runes that proc on hit due to its speed.

Dragon Slayer (Colossal Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Colossal Sword
  • Base Damage: 22.0
  • Attack Speed: 1.12 seconds
  • Range: 10 studs
  • DPS: 19.64 (Highest Raw DPS)

If you prefer raw, massive damage numbers, the Dragon Slayer is your champion. While slower than the Chaos sword, it has the highest raw DPS among the Colossal weapons and a significant range advantage. It’s perfect for engaging tough enemies from a safer distance.

Tachi (Katana)

  • Weapon Class: Katana
  • Base Damage: 8.925
  • Attack Speed: 0.6 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 14.88

The Tachi is the best of the Katana class, offering a fantastic mix of speed and reach. It sits comfortably between the lightning-fast Straight Swords and the heavy-hitting Colossals. Its balanced nature makes it an accessible and reliable S-Tier choice that feels great to use in almost any situation.

A-Tier Weapons

Weapons in A-Tier are extremely strong and perfectly capable of clearing all late-game content, often serving as excellent alternatives to S-Tier finds.

Skull Crusher (Colossal Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Colossal Sword
  • Base Damage: 24.0
  • Attack Speed: 1.25 seconds
  • Range: 10 studs
  • DPS: 19.2

The Skull Crusher lives up to its name, hitting harder than any other weapon with a base damage of 24.0. However, its slower attack speed means its overall DPS is slightly lower than the Dragon Slayer. It’s fantastic for “hit-and-run” tactics where maximum damage per swing is prioritized.

Hammer (Colossal Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Colossal Sword
  • Base Damage: 20.0
  • Attack Speed: 1.15 seconds
  • Range: 10 studs
  • DPS: 17.39

The Hammer is a slightly more accessible Colossal option, providing high-tier damage with a reasonable drop chance. Its solid stats offer a powerful entry point into the heavy-hitting weapon category, giving reliable performance throughout the mid-game and beyond.

Cutlass (Straight Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Straight Sword
  • Base Damage: 8.5
  • Attack Speed: 0.6 seconds
  • Range: 8 studs
  • DPS: 14.17

The Cutlass is the next best choice in the Straight Sword class, offering speed and solid damage, keeping it very competitive. For players who love the fast, fluid Straight Sword playstyle but can’t find a Chaos, the Cutlass is a brilliant second choice.

Uchigatana (Katana)

  • Weapon Class: Katana
  • Base Damage: 8.0
  • Attack Speed: 0.62 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 12.9

A dependable mid-to-late game Katana, the Uchigatana delivers consistent, reliable damage and speed. It is often the base Katana you’ll encounter, making it a great weapon to master before moving to the Tachi. In addition, it’s a highly balanced weapon.

B-Tier Weapons

B-Tier weapons are excellent choices for mid-game progression. They are reliable and often have specific strengths that make them useful in certain builds or situations, particularly for AoE damage.

Scythe (Great Axe)

  • Weapon Class: Great Axe
  • Base Damage: 14.25
  • Attack Speed: 0.95 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 15.0

The Scythe is a standout in the Great Axe class, offering strong AoE potential, making it fantastic for clearing groups of mobs efficiently. It is faster than the Double Battle Axe, favouring a slightly quicker swing.

Double Battle Axe (Great Axe)

  • Weapon Class: Great Axe
  • Base Damage: 15.75
  • Attack Speed: 1.05 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 15.0

The Double Battle Axe is the other top Great Axe, providing slightly higher base damage than the Scythe. It is another great choice for AoE, but you will notice a slightly slower swing speed in exchange for that extra power per hit.

Rapier (Straight Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Straight Sword
  • Base Damage: 7.5
  • Attack Speed: 0.55 seconds
  • Range: 8 studs
  • DPS: 13.64

The Rapier is one of the fastest Straight Swords available, making it excellent for on-hit Rune builds. While its raw damage is slightly lower than the Cutlass, its speed and agility make it a fun weapon to use.

Great Sword (Colossal Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Colossal Sword
  • Base Damage: 18.0
  • Attack Speed: 1.15 seconds
  • Range: 10 studs
  • DPS: 15.65

This is the standard, entry-level Colossal weapon. It provides great range and heavy damage, but is simply overshadowed by the specialized, higher-tier options. Itโ€™s a very strong foundation, nonetheless, with solid overall stats.

C-Tier Weapons

Weapons in this tier are perfectly fine for getting through the early and mid-game, but you’ll want to replace them as soon as you find anything from B-Tier or higher for maximum efficiency.

Crusader’s Sword (Great Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Great Sword
  • Base Damage: 10.5
  • Attack Speed: 0.8 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 13.13

The Crusader’s Sword is a decent Great Sword that offers respectable damage and range for the early-mid game. However, its moderate stats and speed mean youโ€™ll quickly notice a difference when moving to a Scythe or a faster Straight Sword.

Falchion Sword (Straight Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Straight Sword
  • Base Damage: 6.5
  • Attack Speed: 0.6 seconds
  • Range: 8 studs
  • DPS: 10.83

The Falchion Sword is an early Straight Sword that is quite fast but lacks the damage of its higher-tier counterparts. It is an excellent upgrade from the Daggers, but should quickly be replaced by a Cutlass or Rapier.

Relevator (Gauntlet)

  • Weapon Class: Gauntlet
  • Base Damage: 7.0
  • Attack Speed: 0.65 seconds
  • Range: 6 studs
  • DPS: 10.77

The Relevator is the best of the Gauntlet class. While Gauntlets are generally lower-tier due to their short range, the Relevator has solid DPS for a close-range brawler style, though it’s still outclassed by the fastest Straight Swords.

Long Sword (Great Sword)

  • Weapon Class: Great Sword
  • Base Damage: 9.0
  • Attack Speed: 0.8 seconds
  • Range: 9 studs
  • DPS: 11.25

A very common early-game sword, the Long Sword provides good starting reach but is easily outclassed in both damage and speed by nearly all B-Tier and up weapons.

D-Tier Weapons

D-Tier contains the weapons youโ€™ll use in the very early game before you craft better gear. They lack the range and damage output needed for serious progression and should only be used as temporary placeholders.

Ironhand (Gauntlet) and Boxing Gloves (Gauntlet)

  • Weapon Class: Gauntlet
  • Base Damage: 4.0
  • Attack Speed: 0.6 seconds
  • Range: 6 studs
  • DPS: 6.67

These are the most common Gauntlets. They are purely for early-game combat and should be replaced immediately. Their short range of 6 studs and mediocre stats simply don’t compete with other weapon classes.

Dagger (Dagger Class)

  • Weapon Class: Dagger
  • Base Damage: 3.5
  • Attack Speed: 0.5 seconds
  • Range: 6 studs
  • DPS: 7.0

Weapons like the Dagger are the fastest in the game, but their extremely low base damage and very short 6-stud range mean their overall DPS is critically low. They are generally only useful for specialized, high-luck builds focusing entirely on very rare on-hit rune effects.

How to Forge Weapons: The Crafting Process Explained

The core loop of The Forge revolves entirely around crafting, and youโ€™ll often return to use the Forging Station to craft new weapons and gear. Forging is not just about combining materials โ€“ it’s a dynamic, multi-step process that involves skill-based mini-games which determine the final Crafting Quality of your weapon. Weโ€™ll cover the necessary steps below.

Select Your Ores and Weapon Type

First, go to the main Forging Station near Sensei Moro in the starter area, Stonewake’s Cross. When you interact with it, you should choose the Weapon option and select the ores you want to use from your inventory.

Ore Quantity

The total number of ores you use heavily influences the weapon class you receive. Using a few ores (3โ€“6) highly favours smaller, faster weapons like Daggers and Gauntlets. Using a lot of ores (15โ€“25+) significantly increases the chance of creating heavy, high-damage weapons like Great Swords, Great Axes, and Colossal Swords.

Ore Rarity and Type

The rarity of the ores determines the weapon’s Base Stats and Multiplier. Always aim to use your highest-rarity ores (like Fireite, Magmaite, and Galaxite) for the best results, as the final multiplier is based on the average rarity of all ores used. Additionally, certain ores carry unique Traits (like burn or explosion damage) that can be passed on to the forged weapon, so stack similar ores for the best passive bonuses.

The Forging Mini-Games

Once you hit the “Forge!” button, you enter a sequence of three skill-based mini-games that directly influence your weapon’s quality and selling price. The better you perform, the higher the final Crafting Quality will be, which boosts the weapon’s overall stats.

Smelting the Ore (Bellows)

This first step requires you to pump the bellows to heat the ores. You must continually move the green circle up and down, filling the vertical bar on the right side of the screen. Consistent pumping is key to succeeding here.

Pouring the Molten Metal (Line Control)

In the second game, a white line indicator will move up and down a vertical bar with a moving yellow target zone. You must click or hold your mouse (or tap on mobile) to raise the white line and keep it inside the yellow bar. Every second the white line is in the yellow zone, the progress bar at the bottom fills up, moving you to the next step.

Shaping the Equipment (Timing Challenge)

This final, and often trickiest, step determines the final quality rating (Perfect, Great, Good, etc.). Two circles will appear โ€“ one stationary (the inner circle) and one closing in on it (the outer circle). You must click precisely when the outer circle perfectly overlaps the inner one. Hitting “Perfect” on these taps is what you need to maximize your weapon’s base stats and overall value.

Once you successfully complete the timing challenge, your newly forged weapon will cool and appear in your inventory, ready to be equipped, enhanced with Runes, or sold!

Choosing the best weapon in Roblox: The Forge ultimately comes down to a balance between raw stats, your preferred combat style, and a bit of luck in the crafting process. The S-Tier weapons like Chaos and Dragon Slayer offer the highest performance ceiling and are worth the intense grind for high-multiplier ores. Remember that a great weapon is only part of the equation! Donโ€™t forget to upgrade your favourite gear with Rune Enhancements and focus on high-quality ore multipliers to truly maximize your stats. Remember to use the latest The Forge codes to get more resources to boost your progression! So keep mining, keep forging, and you’ll become an unstoppable force in The Forge!
