Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders still has its foot firmly on the gas with more updates coming to the extraction shooter. As the game along its roadmap, the studio is already teasing its upcoming major update: Flashpoint.

Arriving later this month, Flashpoint will see will introduce a new map condition, a new arc threat, an update to Scrappy, and even a new Player Project for fans. While the devs have kept the true scale of the update hidden, it appears that this will be the biggest update of the year so far.

In a new post, Embark teased that “someone forgot to close the Stella Montis doors on their way out”. Additionally, in a new video, players can hear the game’s Shredder enemies in the background, likely meaning that the enemy type will now invade more maps than just the close quarters arena.

Additionally, in the descriptionof the new video teaser, Embark said: “Arc is adapting—and so are we”. This isn’t confirmation that Shredders are definitely jumping across Rust Belt with the Arc Raiders Flashpoint update, but it’s a pretty big tease for that happening.

Additionally, in a prior interview, Arc Raiders design lead Virgil Watkins explained that Shredders would absolutely jump outside of Stella Montis at some point in the future. “I think it is a promise,” Watkins said. “They’ll figure out how to get out of there eventually.”

However, as the game’s roadmap teases a “new Arc threat”, is the Shredder escape the only new thing coming to the sandbox? If so, as the Shredder moves out of Stellar Montis and into the wider enemy pool, will the enemy be adapting to its surroundings with new attacks and behaviours? Well, I guess we’ll find out later this month.

At the time of writing, only one additional update has been confirmed for Arc Raiders in the form of April’s Riven Tides. This update will bring a new map condition, a new large Arc to the game, and a brand-new map which we believe will be situated to the east of Volcano Rise, likely connecting to the Coast of Calabretta.
