Embark’s Arc Raiders is a fantastic game, but it can feel a bit rough around the edges. There are a lot of minor quirks and bugs that pop out from time to time, but Embark is frequently fixing the game by patching exploits in hilarious ways, cracking down on cheaters, and more.

In the latest Arc Raiders hotfix, which came after the recent DDOS attack on all Embark titles, the developers silently fixed an issue that has been plaguing the game for the last month: resetting crafting options.

For a while now, trying to craft multiple item stacks in a row would cause your crafting count reset to be set back to 1. This would mean players would have to remember to select the number of items they wanted every time they were trying to craft a stack full of shields, bandages, ammo, or other items.

While not an annoyance for many low-or-mid-tier players, this could become an aggravating factor for higher-end players who like to optimise their stash before going topside. While Arc Raiders is a great game, it’s UI has always been finnicky, especially on controller, and issues like this were very annoying.

However, alongside fixing unintended fire rate changes to a number of weapons and fixing missing cosmetics, Embark has silently fixed the crafting count reset bug without informing anyone. In fact, it if wasn’t for one guy on Reddit, most people probably wouldn’t have realised.

There have been numerous complaints across various live service games for unintended or undocumented changes in patches. However, when it comes to major Quality of Life improvements, I think we can all be forgiving of a missing patch note or two.

And that “or two” is very on point as Embark has also fixed another issue: the Upgrade Weapon button. For a number of weapons, the weapon upgrades window has taken players to the wrong gun. On both PC and console, this bug was an infuriating issue that cropped up from time for time for a number of weeks. Thankfully, this is also fixed.

Arc Raiders has a huge 2026 ahead of it with multiple new maps coming to the game as well as new weapons, enemies and more.
