Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders has just released its major Cold Snap update, a new content drop that adds the Snowfall map condition to the game as well as other goodies. Coming alongisde the hefty 1.7.0 update, a lot of glitches have been fixed within the game, but one major issue has been introduced.
As of the time of writing, blueprint spawns in Arc Raiders are seemingly busted with players finding an entire inventory of prints every match. While the game did expand “blueprint spawn locations to improve availability”, it seems that the patch has made the once very-rare items drop far more than they should.
One social media post from Arc Raiders Twitter account TheRooster showed them returning to Speranza with 15 blueprints. Prior to the game’s most recent patch, a great fun could’ve seen a player come home with three blueprints.
One player on Reddit showed the massive amount of blueprints they’ve managed to nab since the release of the Cold Snap update. The player revealed that they found 37 blueprints across 10 runs: 7 Epics, 18 Rares, 11 Uncommon and 1 Common.
“This is legit OP,” one player commented in response to the post. “I got 5 back2back. I’m a casual, and this was a good topside raid for me tonight.”
The sheer rare of blueprint drops has also caused some anger in the Arc Raiders community from fans who have spent hours grinding the items since launch. “The excessive blueprint spawn rate ruined the game. I don’t have a problem with increasing the probability rate, but rn [right now] it is complete chaos.”
On the other side, some fans are happy as the game is approaching its first wipe: a process where players give up everything they have for a permanent boost in stash size and skill points. When the expedition occurs, players have to go back through the game and find all of their blueprints again, and the increased drop rate will make the process significantly less annoying.
Nevertheless, the rate of blueprint spawns in Arc Raiders as of the 1.7.0 update is excessive, although it is a fun experience just before the wipe. At the time of writing, there is no word from Embark Studios on whether the game will be patched to reduce the rate of blueprint spawns.
