Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced producer promises the game still has blood after its bizarrely tame reveal

Ubisoft has finally unveiled its worst-kept secret: Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag – Resynced, a full remake of 2013’s cross-gen pirate adventure. While the game has seen a major technical advancement in graphics over its more-than-a-decade-old original, fans have noticed some major omissions with the game.

Alongside some bizarre lighting changes from the base game and a more staggered parkour system than the older frenetic incarnation, fans have noticed a severe lack of violence in the remake. However, Ubisoft has confirmed that blood effects will be present in the game on release day.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag – Resynced producer Justin Ng confirmed that players will not be forced to pay for blood effects in the new game, which became a meme online following the game’s reveal. Additionally, the team will be further optimising the balance of its soundscape following complaints from fans.

“There WILL be blood in the final game, and it will not be a paid DLC,” the developer confirmed. “We hear the feedback on the VFX and audio cues on fight. It’s being toned down.”

Additionally, Ng confirmed that the game will maintain all of the social stealth features of the original, including using groups to blend in, hiring dancers, and nonchalantly sitting on a bench. The producer claimed that the game will be “#faithful” to the original game despite some major changes.

Finally, the producer also confirmed that the new Assassin’s Creed game will have a photo mode, similar to prior games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Obviously, the original version of Black Flag released before photo modes were a prominent part of gaming, Now, they’re seen in almost every game, especially Ubisoft games.

There’s still quite a lot we don’t know about Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag – Resynced, although it does certainly look like there are a lot of changes that may prove controversial. While it seems that a lot of the base gameplay is still intact, we won’t know just how much the new changes alter the game until its released. Will this be another Majora’s Mask 3D situation?
