While Battlefield 6 vehicles can sometimes change the pace of a fight, the game’s lighter LGT jeeps are largely useless. Even in the game’s larger maps—which still aren’t as large as we’d prefer—the game’s basic jeep often puts you and your entire crew in more danger as they crumble from mines, grenades, and even basic gunfire.
As it turns out, developers working on Battlefield 6 are also unhappy with the current state of the light vehicle class in the multiplayer game with plans to buff the jeep in future patches. While there’s no timeline on when these changes may be added to BF6, vehicle buffs are on the team’s radar.
DICE hardware producer Kit Eklöf explained in a talk with PC Gamer that “Battlefield Labs test coming up where we’re going to test some vehicle improvements around this issue” following complaints from fans.
Eklöf explained that many feel the current version of the LGT jeeps are simply “death traps” and a “package of vehicle improvements” are in the works and will be tested by players very shortly. The developer did not explain which vehicles will receive buffs outside of the jeep, although many have asked for blanket buffs for vehicles across the board.
Unfortunately, as the improvements go through the Battlefield Labs testing process, that means it will be a while until we see any vehicle buffs in the main game package. After all, the point of BF Labs is to test updates before they go live which often means multiple iterations of major gameplay changes.
Nevertheless, vehicle buffs are necessary, especially for the lighter vehicles, and it would be nice to see players actually encouraged to take one of the game’s many cars further than the early capture points during a match.
Battlefield 6 has just entered Season 2 following an extended Season 1. Unfortunately, the release of the new season has not really reignited the game’s debut popularity, which caused the game to become the best-selling US game of 2025, but it still only takes a few seconds to find a match in the multiplayer game at the time of writing.
While Battlefield 6 did boast a great launch, there are still a large number of issues surrounding the game, and the game has failed to rapidly evolve like other live-service games. With the same key issues since launch still plaguing the game today–such as bungled matchmaking and the lack of a server browser–the game still needs some well-earned TLC.
