Following an impressive launch last year, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is jumping to PC. The new PC port will allow players to maintain the game’s DualSense features, as well as crank up visuals, play in different aspect ratios, and hit higher framerates.

However, the new PC port of Death Stranding 2 isn’t just releasing as it did on PlayStation with some PC-specific gubbins. Instead, the port will also come with the release of additional content for both PC and PlayStation 5 players.

Confirmed outside of the reveal trailer in a new blog post by PlayStation, Kojima’s latest game will receive additional content. For now, the new content is simply described as “new modes and features… that will offer players new challenges and rewards”.

It’s not known if this will include major story missions, similar to the original game’s Director’s Cut, but considering the lack of any fancier subtitle for the new release, this is likely all additional content that will exist outside of the main narrative.

While the original game’s Director’s Cut did add some new story content, the game also received additional updates that added content outside of the story. This included additional standard orders, new locations to visit, new weapons, and even additional vehicles.

With director Hideo Kojima seemingly already entrenched in development of both the upcoming Xbox horror title OD, which collects a number of terrifying short stories, but also his Metal Gear Solid spiritual successor Physint, it might mean that simply isn’t enough time to create more story content for Death Stranding 2.

Kojima Productions will confirm additional details for the upcoming DS2 content sometime in March, closer to the release of the game’s PC version. The PC port of the game, as well as the new content for PS5 players, is scheduled to launch on March 19, 2026.
