Fallout 3 Remastered leaker tells fans not to expect Fallout Day reveal as it’s too “early” in development

Bethesda has only just confirmed new Fallout 76 content in the form of Burning Springs, and a new series of the series’ awesome TV show is just around the corner. However, with the upcoming Fallout Day celebration slated for October 23, 2025, many are expecting news of Fallout 3 Remastered.

Originally leaked alongside the now-released Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Fallout 3 Remastered is said to be in development at Virtuos Studios. The unconfirmed remaster will reportedly use the same Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine on top of the original game.

While Fallout Day does sound like the perfect place to announce an in-development remaster of the ageing third game, fans have been told to calm their expectations as the game is currently too “early” to be shown off.

“I’d be very surprised if they make mention of it this early”, prominent leaker NatetheHate, who originally leaked Oblivion Remastered as well, told their followers on social media.

This isn’t the first time the leaker has told fans to calm their expectations for a reveal. While both Bethesda RPG remasters were leaked at the same time, the two projects were slated to be released with a two hour gap between them.

Speaking to fans back in April, NatetheHate told fans that “it’ll be a while before we see it”, later adding earlier this month that the “Fallout 3 Remaster is planned; but it’ll be a while – barring plans don’t change”.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was originally scheduled to release in FY22, according to internal Microsoft documents shared with the FTC. While this was the plan, the remaster didn’t release until 2025. That very same document put Fallout 3 Remastered at a release period of FY24, likely pushing the project to a 2027 release date.

Nevertheless, we hope that Bethesda does have something interesting to show during Fallout Day, although we highly doubt it’s a mainline entry considering the studio’s development of The Elder Scrolls VI, which may release sometime during out lifetime.
