Epic Games has released many new modes in Fortnite over the past few years. What started as a battle royale game has now turned into something much more. Now, core modes include both casual and competitive playlists. On top of that, Fortnite allows players to create their own maps and have fun on them.

However, many players would love to see an old mode return despite all of this. According to a recent leak, this is precisely what will happen. Epic seems to be working on bringing back the Playground mode in Fortnite, which was very popular back in Chapter 1.

Playground mode is coming back to Fortnite, leak shows

According to AllyJax_ and Hypex, two veteran leakers, Epic may bring the Playground mode back very soon. This mode was first released in Season 4 and it allowed players to have fun on the battle royale island without fighting others. Thanks to this, many players made unique structures or simply had fun with their friends. Some of them even covered the entire Loot Lake!

Playground was replaced by Battle Lab in Chapter 2, which as an improved version of it. Unfortunately, this sandbox mode was completely vaulted with the release of Chapter 4.

While Creative mode is certainly much better, due to the variety of tools, it’s not the same as Playground. After all, the Playground mode allowed players to explore the battle royale map without interruptions. Furthermore, the mode had a few exclusive items that were not available anywhere else, such as Spiky Stadium. Later on, Battle Lab added bots, both enemy and friendly, allowing players to practice their skills.

At the moment, it’s unknown when Epic Games will bring the Playground mode back to Fortnite. However, considering that the leakers found this in the game data, it might happen in Chapter 7, which is set to come out in December. While waiting, don’t forget to unlock all the free skins in Fortnite!
