How to unlock Magneto’s Black & Gold skin for free in Marvel Rivals?
The latest Marvel Rivals update has introduced a new event, Gone Nutty for Gifts. The event brings three skins you can unlock from its pass, and one of them is free. Magneto’s skin is available in the free track, but if you upgrade the pass to Premium, you will be able to score new costumes for Squirrel Girl and Winter Soldier.
Unlike the previous event passes, this one requires you to complete missions. As you complete them, you will earn Acorns, which you can then use to open gifts. Once you earn Accords, you can go to the event page, choose a present you want to open, and get your reward.
In a way, this event is similar to Van Dyne’s Grand Opening, which featured a Legendary Psylocke skin. However, instead of popping balloons, you shoot Acorns at presents. Also, earning Acorns is free, while popping balloons was not.
If you complete enough missions during the new Marvel Rivals event, you are guaranteed to unlock the free Magneto skin. However, even if you don’t have much time to play, you can get lucky by unlocking the skin early.
The event will run until January 16, 2026, at 9 AM UTC. Thanks to this, you have more than enough time to unlock Magneto’s Black & Gold skin, as well as all the other rewards. If you upgrade to the Premium track, you will get access to several new cosmetics, including two skins, and will also gain permanent access to the event pass, which allows you to complete it anytime.
