Following the reveal of the next major campaign for the game’s ongoing Into the Unjust storyline, Arrowhead has confirmed a swathe of content is on the way for Helldivers 2. With a new roadmap of updates detailing new additions until June 2026, Arrowhead is on the ball when it comes to content for the game.

At the time of writing, the current HD2 roadmap details new enemies, biomes, storylines and quality-of-life fixes, but Arrowhead is also working on additional improvements under-the-hood for the constantly-evolving live service game.

Recently, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani confirmed that the team is working on deeper progression systems so that players aren’t “just grinding for XP”. However, in a new discussion with fans, Jorjani explained that the team is also planning for more detailed customisation as well.

Speaking to fans on Discord, the Helldivers 2 boss discussed the notion of “expanding weapon customisation”. While there are no concrete plans shared right now, Jorjani claimed that better options for customisation—weapons and otherwise—will come in the future.

“Yes, yes. in due time,” the CEO said. “We keep adding more stuff with customization – but it would be need to expand the system of course.” The CEO added that there’s “no promise on timeline” right now.

When asked about the prospect of adding additional stat tracking to the game, Jorjani also explained that there are multiple game-expanding features on an internal wishlist for Arrowhead. However, right now, the team is working on other, more important additions to the game.

“Sounds like a nice quality of life feature,” the CEO added. “We have those on the wishlist but end up prioritizing more pressing things.” Of course, as a wishlist item, there is no guarantee that these ideas will arrive, especially anytime soon.

In the past, Arrowhead has been adamant that Helldivers 2 will massively evolve over time with huge, sequel-like features. Last year, COO Johan Pilestedt revealed that he would like to add “sequel-level features” that will make the game feel like a Helldivers 3.

Right now, Helldivers 2 is going through a massive content spree with huge campaign additions. While there are still technical issues under-the-hood, which the studio is still working on improving, the game has come a long way since the technical disaster of last year.
