Helldivers 2 eliminates FOMO with brilliant new Superstore change
Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed a brand-new feature for Helldivers 2, targeting the often FOMO-feeling Superstore of special items that are not unlockable via the game’s Warbonds.
While fans, and ourselves, argue over the current rate of Super Credits players can get from playing the game, Arrowhead has listened to the many months of complaints surrounding the game’s Super Store.
Prior to his update, the Superstore would only display a small number of items at any given time. Every few days, the store would swap out items for other options, which would see players waiting weeks for items they wanted to return to the store.
This could be incredibly frustrating at times. If you saw an item in the Superstore, but didn’t have the necessary credits to purchase the item, then it would often be gone by the time you finished grinding the required currency. Thankfully, Arrowhead has listened to the complaints from fans, and this has been changed.
Starting next week, the Helldivers 2 Superstore will remove all item rotations with every item now being available at all times. At least for now, Arrowhead is allowing you to either wait to buy an item on payday, or allow you to spend the time to grind the required number of Super Credits you need to buy it.
Right now, this feature appears to only be a temporary addition to the store, but Arrowhead has teased that they will “will try and make it a permanent feature of the store”. Considering the fact that players have been asking for this very addition for years, it seems that this feature will remain a core part of the game’s future.
Right now, Helldivers 2 is prepping for the release of its next major Warbond: Exo Experts. Additionally, Arrowhead has made a major change to the way it rewards players after a Major Order with rewards now only going to players who actively log in during the game’s bespoke campaigns.
As Arrowhead continues to work on new features for the game, such as the previously promised “meaningful progression” improvements, it’s clear that there’s a lot of work to be done for the multiplayer co-op game.
