Have you ever played through a run of Stardew Valley and thought, “damn, Pelican Town could do with a little mini Soap Opera around here”? Well, one talented modder clearly did and added a full enemies to lovers storyline to ConcerneApe’s cosy farming game.

With Stardew Valley 1.7 now in development, there could be more official romances and storylines coming to the game in the future. However, until then, modders are carrying on adding new story content and even full cooking minigames to keep players satisfied.

Created by modder Kcspace, Stardew Valley: Across the Aisle is a new rival hearts event for Pierre, the manager of Pelican Town’s General Store, and Morris, the manager of the enemy Jojamart store.

Available to download for free on Nexus Mods, the new mod has crafted a cutesy enemies to lovers story between the two store managers while also diving further into their individual lives to give you an insight into their day-to-day struggles.

“This mod follows Pierre as he navigates co-parenting of an adult child, co-ownership of a business, and, of course, love after divorce,” reads the official mod description. Additionally, “Caroline rediscovers herself as a newly single woman, and Abigail navigates her relationship with her dad and his new boyfriend.”

The extensive mod adds 14 new heart events to Stardew Valley with dialogue. Additionally, the mod adds an updated Community Center completion event when Pierre and Morris become friends, and a new apartment and schedule for Pierre.

Modder Kcspace explains that the mod took a few months to complete. In the past, the modder also worked on the cute “Star Crossed” mod which added rival marriages for 6 couples with dialogue, unique events, custom weddings and more.

While the new Across the Aisle mod is compatible with existing saves, it’s also designed to be played alongside the base game. Because of this, the first eight events will not occur if the Community Center or JojaMart are completed, so you’d really be missing out if your current save has already sped past those points.

While the new mod is available right now, there’s currently no release date for the next major Stardew Valley update. However, the game is receiving an exciting Nintendo Switch 2 port sometime in the future with full house controls and reworked menus.
