Embark has released a rapid-fire update for Arc Raiders in the form of a small hotfix. Following the game’s 1.23.0 patch on April 8th, the new Arc Raiders 1.23.1 patch notes detail some minor but essential improvements to the game.
With this new patch, Embark has tackled another nasty duplication glitch that was allowing players to quickly clone items within the game. While Embark does not specifically state which exploit they have targeted with this patch, it would appear that players will no longer be able to use a prolific hardware spoofing method that allowed them to clone items.
Duplication glitches have been a major focus of Arc Raiders’ patches with players ruining the game’s tightly-managed loot economy by cloning high-end gear to give themselves an advantage. After all, risking loot is the whole point of the genre, and being able to clone near-infinite copies of your best gear is just fighting the way the game is made me played.
Alongside the duping fix, Embark has also fixed an issue that was allowing players to jump back into matches that they had already failed. This recent glitch allowed players to quickly reconnect to a match they’d just lost and try to regain their loot by killing their killer, but it has since been culled.
Finally, the hotfix also fixes some of the game’s recent crashes on PlayStation 5, although the dev team explains that there are still additional crashes that must be fixed. “We will continue to monitor the situation as we investigate further,” the developer said.
Here are the patch notes in full:
- Fixed a duplication glitch.
- Fixed an exploit that let players reconnect to a round that they shouldn’t be able to reconnect to.
- Addressed some instances of crashes happening on PS5. We will continue to monitor the situation as we investigate further.
As a hotfix, you actually don’t even need to download an actual update for Arc Raiders. Instead, the next time you boot up the game—or restart if you have it open right now—you’ll automatically apply the new hotfix.
