Silent HIll 2 Remake and Layers of Fear studio Bloober Team is currently working on a number of horror projects. Alongside the new Silent HIll remake, the Polish developer is working on a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive title currently known as Project M.

There’s very little known about the studio’s upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 project. While the game will reportedly make “fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Limb, and Eternal Darkness immediately feel at home”, it’s also said that the game can only exist on Nintendo’s hardware.

In a post on LinkedIn, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno explained that the studio is looking at what “Nintendo Switch 2 could do for horror games in a way that PC, PlayStation or Xbox simply wouldn’t be able to replicate”.

Babieno revealed that the team is “not talking about raw power or graphics”, but “how the platform itself can influence experience design” The CEO explained that the team is looking to the hardware’s unique strengths to guide “immersion, tension, player behaviour” using “portability, console features, controllers” and more.

“One thing I’ve always appreciated about Nintendo platforms is that they often inspire design decisions you probably wouldn’t make anywhere else,” the CEO said. “And honestly, that’s what excites me the most.”

Babieno explained that the goal of Project M isn’t “to make horror more casual or ‘safer’”, but instead to “create something uniquely ‘Nintendo’ while still remaining dark, disturbing and fully horror-driven.” While the team already has their own ideas to make their horror game feel uniquely Nintendo, the CEO asked for suggestions on the LinkedIn post.

“I already have my own thoughts, but I’m genuinely curious about yours,” the CEO said. “Of course — there’s always a chance we’re already working on something similar, so if you’re afraid of sharing your idea publicly… maybe keep the best ones to yourself.”

Bloober publicly announced Project M back in 2024. While little is known about the horror game, the project has been described as an “extremely important” title for the studio’s continued longevity. Currently in deep development, the game will reportedly introduce “a bold twist—one that no horror game has ever explored before”.

Project M is expected to be released sometime later this year, although the game itself has still not been revealed. This likely means that the game will release at the latter end of this year, if it’s not delayed into 2027.
