As an investigator from the Ancile, you are sent to explore the cyclopean ruins of infamous R’lyeh. Along the way, you will search for fragments of the Shining Trapezohedron, an ancient artifact that holds the key to the abyss, provided you can survive the puzzles that test both your perception and your sanity. Gameplay Features
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a mix of narrative investigation and action-adventure elements, all in a uniquely oppressive (if expected) atmosphere. Unlike many Cthulhu-related adventures that take place in the roaring ‘20s, the Cosmic Abyss takes place in the near future. Namely, the year 2053. You play as Noah, whose task is to investigate the Pacific Ocean in search of missing miners – which, unfortunately, leads you to the sleeping sunken city of R’lyeh.
Much like Big Bad Wolf's previous work, your choices and the sights you witness will impact your character's mental state, leading to hallucinations or revealing new paths that only the "unbound" mind can see.
Additionally, in a unique crossover, Nacon has included a complete digital scenario for the Arkham Horror TTRPG titled "Descent" in the Deluxe Edition. This allows you to play through an occult threat linked directly to the game's universe with your tabletop group.
