A new Elden Ring Nightreign mode launches today on all platforms, bringing the brand new Deep of Night multiplayer game type to FromSoftware’s co-op Soulslike game.
Deep of Night is a new roguelike mode releasing right now for the latest Elden Ring game that offers unique challenges outside of the main game. In this mode, you’ll engage in increasingly difficult runs to earn new ranks which, in turn, continue to make the game even harder.
“As an end-game challenge for players, Deep of Night can start by hiding the Nightlord and any Shifting Earth from players until battle begins,” FromSoftware explained in a press release.
Enemies across Limveld are more challenging than in the base game, and random enemies will suffer horrendous mutations that make them more dangerous than before. Additionally, players will also have to tightly “newly strengthened foes” hiding in the game. If it’s a challenge you want, Elden Ring Nightreign is certainly giving you one.
Deep of Night also adds new weapon enhancements to discover as you continue to dive through the ranks. However, some of these enhancements may add huge detriments to your build such as increasing your endurance but also increasing the damage you take per hit.
Furthermore, the mode offers three new relic slots that can be used exclusively for Depths Relics, a new reward only found in the Deep of Night mode. Just like the new weapon enhancements, Depths Relics can add powerful bonuses to your build, but also come at a cost.
Finally, Elden Ring Nightreign’s Everdark Sovereign bosses may pop up during runs in the Deep of Night mode, offering even more challenge for hardcore players and increasing the randomisation of the roguelike mode.
