Sports Interactive’s least-popular entry in its long-running management series, Football Manager 26, will be free for an entire month.
Despite rancid reviews due to a number of high-profile issues, especially on console, Football Manager 26 will be free on PlayStation 4 and 5 as part of the platform’s annual PlayStation Plus free game giveaway.
While the current free PS Plus games include Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, a recent report reveals that Football Manager 26 will be included in the next batch of PS Plus titles.
According to extremely accurate leaker BillBil-kun of Dealabs Magazine, FM26 will be part of the next batch of games, becoming available on Tuesday, 21st April. While not the headliner, the game will be available to claim for an entire month, and will be playable for as long as you have an active PS Plus subsciption.
As for the full list of games, you’ll be able to claim the following titles as of April 21st:
- Horizon: Zero Dawn – Remastered
- The Crew Motorfest
- Football Manager 26 Console
Alongside the game’s addition to PlayStation Plus, Football Manager 26 was also added to Xbox’s flagship Xbox Game Pass subscription. With the subscription, players are able to play as much as they like of the game across Xbox, PC and mobile via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Football Manager 26 has been a black sheep for the long-running management series, but it still has a very active playerbase, even if that playerbase is smaller than the high of FM24. While the game’s Winter Update brought back a lot of players, the game simply hasn’t caught on to the degree that players’ expected.
Nevertheless, even with its issues, FM26 is still fun to play, and if you have yet to pick the game up, it’s worth a shot if you’re a fan of the series, footie, or just management games in general. Yes, it’s UI has a lot of issues, but there’s a lot to love there as well.
