The latest Fortnite ban wave has affected over 70,000 Epic Games accounts. Numerous players have lost their accounts forever, and many of them claim they did nothing wrong. To make the situation worse, the Fortnite creator hit these players with a so-called inactive ban, which totally wipes accounts and is nearly impossible to recover.
If you have lost your account in the recent Fortnite ban wave, there isn’t much you can do at the moment. However, you can learn about what you did wrong and contact Epic in hopes that the ban will be reversed.
The latest Fortnite ban wave has affected many Discord users who used bots
Discord has hundreds of interesting Fortnite bots you can use to perform certain actions. Some of them have basic functionalities, such as showing the Item Shop, while others are more advanced. These advanced bots generally require access to your account, and they can do a lot, from buying items from you to checking your friend list.
Unfortunately, using these bots is not recommended, and the latest ban wave shows why. Epic just banned thousands of players who used specific Discord bots, giving them “inactive” bans. This means that their accounts were marked as inactive, and players can’t even use them to log in on the website.
According to Lyss Sky on X, more than 70,000 Epic Games accounts have been affected by the ban wave. However, Epic hasn’t addressed this yet, and many players hope they will get clarification soon.
In the meantime, it’s important to emphasize the security of your account. Account sharing is strictly forbidden in Fortnite and can lead to a ban. Once you allow a Discord bot to access your account, the bot can then perform many other actions, including spamming other players. This is not the first time that Epic has banned players for using Discord bots, and it likely won’t be the last. While we hope that the issue will be resolved, please take care of your accounts and do not give access to anyone.
