The iconic Fortnite Battle Bus will be removed in less than 36 hours. Once again, Epic Games will release numerous changes with the release of a new chapter, and one of them involves the shakeup of the landing system. Starting tomorrow, November 29, the Battle Bus will be gone, and a new method will take its place.
Instead of jumping out of the Battle Bus and gliding down, players will now ride a massive tsunami onto the island. This change brings a new surfing mechanic to Fortnite, but it also comes with a major restriction.
Fortnite will remove the Battle Bus and replace it by a tsunami in Chapter 7
The launch of Chapter 7 marks the end of an era, according to a new leak. The Battle Bus has been the way players enter the map since the very beginning, but now it is being vaulted. This is a massive shift that will completely change the start of every match and how players approach the game.
Back in the early days of Fortnite, players were quite restricted regarding their gliding. Even if they opened the umbrella right after jumping out of the bus, they weren’t able to reach far points of the island. The new tsunami mechanic will work in a similar way, as there will be movement restrictions.

Instead of the Battle Bus, a massive tsunami will take players to the island. More specifically, players will surf on a tsunami, which sounds incredible and refreshing! This visual change also comes with a significant gameplay implication, which may make the game a bit harder.
The biggest change is that players will no longer pick far drop spots. The tsunami will push them in a random direction each match, forcing them to land at specific areas. This removes the ability to plan a safe drop at the edge of the map. The Battle Bus will likely make its final appearance during the Fortnite live event on Saturday, although it may return at some point in the future.
