Epic Games has been generous with free cosmetics in Fortnite this season. When Season 2 launched, the developer released a new free skin and Kicks, among other cosmetics. The latest update added a couple of free items too, but they have extreme requirements.

To unlock a new item in Fortnite, you will need to win hundreds of games in an upcoming competitive mode. Because of this grind, the reward could become one of the rarest Fortnite items of all time.

New Fortnite item requires 300 wins to unlock

The latest Fortnite update introduced rewards for the Arenas mode. This fast-paced mode allows you to practice your building skills against other opponents and work on your end-game strategy. To motivate players to try the mode out, Epic added a couple of free cosmetics that can be unlocked in it. However, unlocking them is one of the toughest grinds Fortnite has introduced.

The Builder’s Crest Back Bling is the main reward tied to Arenas, and unlocking it requires winning hundreds of rounds. More precisely, you need to end up victorious in 300 rounds to add the exclusive back bling to your account. The Cracked Spray is another reward added with the last update, and you can unlock it by winning 125 rounds.

The Arenas mode set to officially launch on April 9.

Arenas matches are shorter than standard Battle Royale games. Despite this, the back bling is realistically only attainable for hardcore players. Even with a 50% win rate, it would still take dozens of hours to unlock the item.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether this item will come to the Item Shop at a later date or stay exclusive.
