Fortnite’s cosmetic system has changed a lot over the years. What started with simple outfits, pickaxes, gliders, and emotes has grown into a massive part of the game, with new skins, wraps, Kicks, cars, instruments, LEGO styles, and crossover bundles arriving on a regular basis.
Now, Epic Games appears to be working on another change tied to cosmetics. According to reputable Fortnite leakers Shiina and Hypex, the developer is working on a rating system that would allow players to react to cosmetics that are currently available in the Item Shop.
Fortnite is working on cosmetic ratings
The leaked feature would reportedly let players like, dislike, or double-like Item Shop cosmetics. This means players may eventually be able to give direct feedback on skins, emotes, pickaxes, wraps, and other cosmetics while browsing the shop.
At the moment, Epic Games has not officially announced the feature, but it may come with the next season. If it does arrive, it could be a useful way for Epic to understand which cosmetics players enjoy the most. Instead of relying only on purchases, the developer could also see how players feel about specific items, bundles, and shop rotations.

There is one important detail to keep in mind. The results may not be shown publicly, especially because Fortnite includes many licensed collaborations. Public dislike numbers could create issues for crossover skins tied to major brands, artists, movies, shows, or other games. Because of this, Epic may decide to keep cosmetic ratings private and use them only as internal feedback. This would still make the system valuable, even if players never see the final voting results.
Fortnite players already use cosmetic voting systems outside the game. Websites such as Fortnite.GG allow users to rate cosmetics, track shop items, and compare skins. However, an official in-game system would likely reach far more players and give Epic much better data.
For now, players will have to wait for Epic Games to reveal more information. In the meantime, they can unlock a couple of free Fortnite skins or use some of the best XP maps to level up quickly.
