2026’s undeniable icon of horror, Nikki Freeman, is jumping out of Obsession and into Fortnite, just in time for Halloween.
Released in May, Obsession, starring Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston, quickly grew into a worldwide phenomenon. At the time of writing, the film is the tenth highest-grossing film of the year, and the fifth highest-grossing horror film of all time.
While people in the real world are dressing up as the character for Halloween, with the character being the most searched for Halloween outfit of the year, the virtual world is also set to be populated by crowds of the character.
Revealed by leakers and dataminers, an Obsession Fortnite crossover is coming as part of Fortnitemares 2026. Nikki comes dressed in her outfit from the film, including wellies, shorts, and a patterned red top, and comes with various emotes.
One emote is the iconic frown animation from the film’s party scene. Another features the character’s, “No, No, No. Don’t do that!” speech from the resteraunt date scene. However, in typical Fortnite fashion, the quote is a series of cue cards the character throws out, Wile E. Coyotestyle.
The crossover will also include “Nikki’s Broken Bottle” as a pickaxe. (Personally, I think the brick is probably a more iconic item.) The now-iconic One Wish Willow will also feature in the crossover as an oversized Back Bling. The One Wish Willow was previously featured in a Fortnitemares 2026 trailer teasing the crossover.
The Fortnite Bundle will likely cost around 2,000 V-Bucks to get everything. However, if you just want the outfit that will cost 1,500 V-Bucks. It’s worth noting that, unlike most crossovers, Nikki does not have an alternate outfit. It’s just the one option.
As for the crossover’s release time, the Fortnite Obsession crossover releases on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026. You can find a full timetable of release times below.

The existence of a Fortnite Obsession crossover was pretty much inevitable. With that said, the crossover has rubbed some people the wrong way. Nikki Freeman is often seen as a great horror villain, but the character is a tragic one, and a metaphor for abuse, and their addition to Fortnite is upsetting some.
Nevertheless, there are many others that are exciting to drop some V-Bucks to play as 2026’s biggest star. Although, as we see it, the crossover itself does feel significantly lazier than prior crossovers, and the face model for Nikki herself, based on Navarrette’s likeness, seems off.
With Epic Games’ massive push to use generative AI in Fortnite and other games, it’s unsurprising that the crossover looks a bit off. Even the cue cards Nikki holds look low-resolution and poor. But, if you desperately want to play as Nikki from Obsession in Fortnite… well, she’s coming!
