Starting in May 2026, Epic Games can bring back older Battle Pass skins in Fortnite. This marks a major policy shift, as Battle Pass cosmetics used to be exclusive. This policy changed in August 2024 with the release of the Absolute Doom season.
The second Marvel season concluded in November 2024, and due to this, Epic is now allowed to bring back cosmetics. As a result, some older skins could return as early as next month, such as Gwenpool and Doctor Doom.
All the Battle Pass cosmetics may come to the Item Shop, where they would be sold for V-Bucks.
When will Fortnite bring back older Battle Pass skins?
As previously revealed, Epic may bring back older Battle Pass cosmetics to Fortnite at least 18 months after the seasonal pass expires. With this rule, Absolute Doom skins and cosmetics will be eligible for an Item Shop release starting with the next month.
It’s important to note that the Fortnite developer may not bring back all the items. While all the Battle Pass cosmetics are eligible for return, they are not guaranteed to come to the shop. Furthermore, release dates of eligible skins will still be unknown, although Epic may reveal them shortly before they come out.

Here are the Battle Pass skins that could return as early as next month:
- Gwenpool
- War Machine
- Peelverine
- Emma Frost
- Captain Jones
- Mysterio
- Shuri
- Doom
Besides the skins, Epic Games may release all the other cosmetics to the Item Shop, including emotes, pickaxes, and back blings. Furthermore, players will be able to purchase both base skins and their alternative styles. The price of the returning cosmetics is currently unknown, but considering that these are all collaboration skins, they will likely cost at least 1,500 V-Bucks.
Is buying the Fortnite Battle Pass still worth it?
Despite losing exclusivity, the Battle Pass is still one of the most amazing deals in Fortnite. For only 800 V-Bucks, players get access to multiple skins, styles, and cosmetics. Furthermore, players can earn their V-Bucks back by simply leveling up.
While the Fortnite Battle Pass is no longer exclusive, it still gives players 18 months of early access to the new cosmetics. Considering that each skin from the pass will probably cost more than 800 V-Bucks, the Battle Pass still offers excellent value.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix skins will be eligible for the Item Shop release in late May or early June, while those from the first season of Chapter 6 may return in August. Skins from the current Battle Pass, Chapter 7 Season 2, will be eligible for return in late 2027.
While the Battle Pass is cheap, it requires playing the game to unlock all the cosmetics, which is why Fortnite XP maps are so valuable. On top of the seasonal pass, Epic is also offering free Fortnite skins and free Kicks this season.
