With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, Epic Games has added many free cosmetics. The season is centered around a fight between The Foundation and The Ice King, and choosing the right side can be rewarding. As the season progresses, you can unlock several cosmetic items in Fortnite, including a pair of free Kicks.

In this guide, we will explain how you can unlock Rivaled Runners Kicks for free. The unlocking process is very simple, as you only need to complete an in-game quest. Furthermore, Epic is also awarding physical items, including a PlayStation 5 and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080.

How to unlock free Kicks in Fortnite?

Kicks were introduced in Fortnite in the Chapter 2 Remix season, but only a few of them have been available for free. With the launch of Season 2, you can pick your side and unlock Rivaled Runners after completing only one quest.

To unlock the free Kicks in Fortnite, follow these steps:

1. Join the Showdown event on the official Fortnite website
2. Choose your team
3. Play Fortnite and eliminate opponents
4. Unlock the Kicks after 50 eliminations

As soon as you complete the first step, you will receive the Original Rivalry spray. Later on, you will need to eliminate 50 players to unlock the free Kicks. Fortunately, this quest can be easily completed by entering Fortnite bot lobbies.

As soon as you complete the quest, Fortnite will send a pair of Kicks to your locker, and you will be able to use them right away. However, it’s important to note that you only have a couple of weeks to finish the quest. The Showdown event runs until April 16 at 11:59 PM ET, and once it ends, you will no longer be able to unlock the Kicks for free.

The Rivaled Runners will likely come to the Item Shop at a later date, but they won’t be free.
