Fortnitemares is arguably the biggest and most popular event in Fortnite. With another update released on Thursday morning, Epic Games has already begun laying the groundwork for this year’s Halloween event. Dataminers have found two skins for the event, and one of them will be locked behind a subscription.
Both skins were shared by Hypex, the most popular Fortnite leaker. While one will be locked behind a monthly subscription, the other one will likely come to the Item Shop. For now, the price and the exact release date of the skin haven’t been revealed.
New Fortnite Halloween skins arrived with the latest update
The first skin that Hypex shared is called Bunnybone. The skin is a mummified rabbit wearing a sweater with a glowing skeleton print on the front side. This skin is likely the one that will hit the Item Shop at some point in October, but Epic Games may also make it obtainable in other ways.
The second leaked skin shows a vampire cowboy, which is another perfect choice for the Fortnitemares 2026 event. According to the leaker, this skin will be available as part of the Fortnite Crew subscription in October. This also means that all the subscribers will get the new skin on October 1, much earlier that the start of the event.
The leaker also shared a side-by-side image that shows the upcoming Crew skin and its concept, showing that the two are nearly identical. According to in-game data, the skin is named Osric the Uninvited.
Epic Games hasn’t revealed the start date of the Fortnitemares 2026 event yet. However, considering that last year’s event began on October 9, while the one in 2024 started on October 12, we expect it to go live by mid-October. The event should be active for at least two weeks.
Last year’s event set the bar high, delivering more than a dozen amazing skins with many collaborations. Doja Cat headlined the event, alongside Ghostface, Jason Voorhees, Art the Clown, Scooby-Doo characters, and others. Surpassing the 2025 event is going to be difficult, but certainly not impossible.
As we approach the event, we will get more information about its content soon. If you need to level up in the meantime, check out our list of the best XP maps in Fortnite.
