After four years, Owlcat Games’ brilliant Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is wrapping up with one final DLC: Processional of the Damned.

Releasing on December 8th 2026, the new expansion will add another brand-new companion in the form of the frail-looking miraculist Stella. The new DLC will also bring a brand-new story that’s interconnected into the main campaign as well as new enemies, environments, and more.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – Processional of the Damned adds new main quests that will introduce you to Stella. In this storyline, you’ll travel to the titular Processional of the Damned, described as “a gigantic voidship graveyard where they get trapped”.

The new expansion also introduces a brand new enemy archetype in the form of the melee-focused Zealot as well as a new madness mechanic. This mechanic affects every companion in the game and stacks debuffs throughout battles.

Talking to FRVR, Owlcat brand manager Anton Emelyanov described the experience of releasing Rogue Trader’s final DLC as “a bittersweet moment”. Owlcat Games has been working on the game for over half-a-decade with the game’s first alpha launching in December 2022.

Almost as an anniversary present for fans, this final DLC will bring fans one more final story before Owlcat moves more staff over to its next CRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Of course, some staff will still be focused on updates for Rogue Trader to fix any bugs introduced by the new expansion.

“Rogue Trader has come a long way since launch, and we’re incredibly proud of how the game has grown and evolved over the years,” Emelyanov said. “It’s been a remarkable journey, shaped by our development team and the passion and feedback of our community.”

“We’re immensely grateful to everyone who’s been a part of it,” the brand manager continued, “and we hope players enjoy what we’ve prepared for them in this final DLC”.

While Rogue Trader will be wrapping up soon, work is only ramping up on Dark Heresy. The upcoming CRPG is currently in Alpha and will launch properly sometime next year. Owlcat also has plans to support the game post-launch with new companions and stories, just like it did with Rogue Trader.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is now available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2. (It’s also pretty damn cool on Steam Deck, just saying!)
