Daredevil is coming to Marvel Rivals in just a bit over a week. The game’s newest Duelist brings something new to the table, as he has reduced vision. Naturally, he won’t be completely blind, as that wouldn’t work in the game, but the way NetEase designed him is truly fantastic.

The release date of Daredevil is set for Friday, October 10. Before he comes out, however, we will get more information, as an early access version of Season 4.5 will come out this week. For now, let’s take a deeper look at the Duelist’s unique mechanic.

Daredevil will be blind in Marvel Rivals, but with a twist

The gameplay video of Daredevil shows that the upcoming hero is blind after a certain range. To make up for this, his close-range senses are amplified, and he can spot enemies more easily. While the hero will not be effective at taking town marksmen, like Black Widow or Hawkeye, he’ll be able to wreak havoc from close range.

The Man Without Fear is effective at both melee and close-quarters combat. His abilities allow him to even close the gap with fliers and quickly deal damage to them. Furthermore, the Duelist has a Team-Up ability with The Punisher.

As gameplay screenshots show, Daredevil’s vision in Marvel Rivals is limited to approximately 30 meters. Beyond this range, the Duelist will be blind. This feature puts him at a significant disadvantage against characters like Hela or Black Widow, and these characters will likely counter him well. At the same time, Daredevil’s amplified senses should make him very effective on maps like Central Park or Midtown.

At the moment, it’s hard to tell whether Daredevil will be good or not. However, with Season 4.5 coming in a week, we’ll be able to try him out soon and check out his masterful moves.
