Over the past few months, there has been a lot of talk about Marvel Rivals losing its popularity. The game peaked in January 2025 and has been gradually declining since then. Despite this, the game is still popular. In fact, the latest data shows that it’s one of the most popular games in multiple regions, which is no small feat.
The hero shooter has consistently ranked among the top 10 games on Xbox and PlayStation in the US. On top of this, it has performed well on Steam, especially in Mexico, where it’s the platform’s second most popular game.

How popular is Marvel Rivals in late 2025?
According to a new report by Circana, Marvel Rivals ranks in the top 15 on multiple systems in North America. This data includes the game’s ranking on both Xbox and PlayStation, as well as Steam Charts. It is based on weekly active users.
This is where the game ranks on different systems in the region:
| Platform / Region | This Weekโs Rank | Last Weekโs Rank |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation US | #10 | #8 |
| Xbox US | #11 | #11 |
| Steam US | #6 | #6 |
| Steam Canada | #7 | #8 |
| Steam Mexico | #2 | #3 |
On PlayStation, Marvel Rivals has surpassed Battlefield 6, one of the hottest titles this month.

In comparison, Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals’ biggest competitor, is ranked in top 15 only on Steam in Mexico. While NetEase’s hero shooter is ranked second in this region on Steam, Overwatch 2 is all the way down at the 11th spot.
While the decreasing player count is not perfect for the game, the truth is that it’s not a big deal. Marvel Rivals has found its footing and its audience, and we expect it to be popular for many years to come. The game will celebrate its first birthday in less than two months, and we can’t wait to see what NetEase has prepared in the future.
