Despite Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 coming on Friday, we already know everything it will bring. NetEase released an early access version of the new update last week, allowing content creators to try out new changes. Unfortunately, some of the things added with the update have received significant backlash from the community.
The upcoming season brings numerous buffs and nerfs, and these balance changes will completely change the meta. The new hero, Daredevil, will get a seasonal bonus that will increase his health and damage, so we expect him to be viable.

Ultron is a Strategist who was added to the game with Season 2.5. Despite the initial hype, the villain robot has never been very powerful. Interestingly, Ultron’s win rate sits at 52.81% on console and 53.73% on PC, per NetEase. While these numbers would make him the ninth and the eighth winningest hero in the game, respectively, they don’t show the entire story.
Ultron’s pick rate is only 4.83% on PC and 3.70% on console. He’s one of the least popular heroes, as many players consider that he’s only viable in a three-support meta. The new Marvel Rivals season has made him even worse, as his healing has been completely decimated.

The Strategist received not one, but two nerfs in Season 4.5:
- Reduced Imperative: Patch healing amount from 35 to 30 and healing bonus to the followed ally from 10 to 5
- Increased the energy cost of Rage of Ultron (Ultimate Ability) from 3400 to 3700
As the balance changes show, Ultron’s healing will take a massive hit in Marvel Rivals. Once the update comes to live servers, he will be more of a Duelist who has healing abilities, which will make the in-game balance worse, especially since the new season will bring another DPS.
