Leveling in Marvel Rivals is mainly done by collecting Chrono Tokens. You can use this currency to unlock Battle Pass rewards and unlock new pages on it, and it’s primarily obtained by finishing quests. Unfortunately, completing weekly quests in Season 5 was quite frustrating before the latest hotfix. Many players were forced into playing the Zombies mode, which made leveling slower.
The good news is that NetEase released a hotfix on Saturday morning, fixing the issue with the leveling system. Next time you log in, you’ll get new quests that you can easily complete and level up your Marvel Rivals Battle Pass.
Marvel Rivals just fixed weekly quests
The Zombies mode is one of the most entertaining things in Marvel Rivals. However, the mode has been out for more than a month, and many players have gotten tired of it. Initially, the PvE mode was supposed to end a few weeks after its release. Due to its popularity, NetEase has extended it several times, and it’s now scheduled to end in mid-January 2026.
The latest weekly quests arrived on Thursday, December 4, and players were not too happy about them.

The new batch of quests was focused on the Marvel Zombies mode, which is why players felt they were forced to play it to level up the Battle Pass. These quests only brought a couple of regular tasks, while everything else was about PvE.
Fortunately, NetEase didn’t take too long to fix the issue. On Saturday morning, the game developer posted a welcome update on its X profile. “Weโve noticed that the number of regular tasks in this weekโs weekly missions was lower than intended, which may have made it difficult for some rivals to complete them and claim their rewards. This issue has now been fixed through an online update,” NetEase posted.
After this update, weekly missions have been fixed, as more of them are now available in regular modes.

We are less than a week away from the release of Season 5.5, which will bring new quests and rewards. The mid-season update will also bring Rogue, and her abilities have already been leaked.
Before the update comes out, though, make sure to unlock free Units from the Anniversary event. You can also check all the active Marvel Rivals codes to add free cosmetics to your account.
