The latest Marvel Rivals update arrived on Thursday, January 29, bringing lots of new content. NetEase has released a new map with it, the Museum of Contemplation, and players are still learning how to be effective on it. However, the new map has a small detail that can be the difference between a loss and a victory.
The new Marvel Rivals map is a Convoy type, which means that you need to stay next to the payload to contest it. The payload changes its design throughout the match, and on the last point, it turns into a giant inflatable duck, which has become quite problematic.
The new Marvel Rivals map has a huge problem
Each map in Marvel Rivals has an objective that you need to capture, and you usually do it by standing in a designated area. This area is usually large, and just standing next to the objective is enough. However, that is not the case with the Museum of Contemplation.
Once the payload turns into an inflatable duck, you will need to stay inside it to contest it. If you stay next to it, you will not get capture progress and can easily lose the match.
As shown in the image below, at least one player must be inside the raft to keep it moving. If you stay next to it, even if it’s just a meter away, it will not count.
This is an issue for both teams, since you won’t be able to move the payload as an attacker, nor will you be able to stop it as a defender. However, the situation for attackers is much easier, as the Doctor Strange duck will keep moving once it has been captured. It’s up to defenders to step on it to stop it from progressing further.
This is likely not an intended change, and we expect NetEase to release a map update soon. In the meantime, however, make sure to jump inside the duck floatie and win the game for your team.
