The release of Marvel Rivals Season 6 is less than 48 hours away, and NetEase has revealed patch notes. Deadpool has been confirmed as a new hero, and his role has finally been revealed. The game developer has also revealed balance changes, a new map, Battle Pass cosmetics, and more.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at everything waiting for us in the upcoming season of the hero shooter.
Marvel Rivals Season 6 patch notes reveal big balance changes
Season 6 balance changes
The next Marvel Rivals season will bring several buffs and nerfs that will shift the meta. Interestingly, the patch will mostly change Vanguards, as five of them are set to receive big changes. Captain America, Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, and Hulk will all receive buffs, while Angela will get a slight downgrade to her shielded stance shield value.

As for Duelists, Black Panther, Blade, and Iron Fist will be more powerful in Season 6, with Daredevil receiving a nerf. Namor has been reworked and is now more powerful in his base form, while his Team-Up has been nerfed.
Strategists have received mostly nerfs, as Rocket Raccoon, Cloak & Dagger, Gambit, and Invisible Woman have all taken a hit.
New Marvel Rivals Battle Pass
The upcoming Battle Pass brings 10 more costumes for you to unlock. In addition to this, the seasonal pass includes many other rewards, including free Units, emotes, and other cosmetics. You can unlock some cosmetics without even purchasing the pass, and that includes a couple of skins.

As the image above shows, the upcoming Marvel Rivals Battle Pass brings new skins for these characters:
- Winter Soldier
- Blade
- Moon Knight
- Mantis
- Invisible Woman
- Venom
- Storm
- Black Panther
- Wolverine
- Star-Lord
New accessories and free skin
The new Marvel Rivals season brings more accessories you can unlock. Storm, Doctor Strange, Captain America, Daredevil, Deadpool, Blade, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, Black Panther, and Rogue are all getting new cosmetics. All of these will be available on the first day of the season.

In addition to these cosmetics, you will be able to unlock a free skin for Jeff the Land Shark with a new event. Marvel Rivals patch notes reveal that a new event will go live on the first day of Season 6, giving you a chance to unlock the 8-bit skin for the fan-favorite strategist.
New Marvel Rivals map in Season 6
The upcoming season of the hero shooter will bring Museum of Contemplation, a new Convoy map. In this map, the objective is to escort a payload as far as possible, which is one of the most popular modes.

Interestingly, the new Marvel Rivals map won’t be available on the first day of Season 6. NetEase has scheduled its release for Thursday, January 29, so it will go live in the second week of the new season.
Deadpool’s role in Marvel Rivals has finally been revealed
Deadpool’s role, which has been the biggest mystery in Marvel Rivals, has finally been revealed. Wade Wilson will not be a tank, a damage dealer, or a support. He will be all of it! The upcoming hero will be able to switch roles mid-match, allowing him to adapt to the situation on the battlefield on the fly.
On the first day of the season, Deadpool will also get a new skin, which will be available in the in-game shop.

Deadpool is voiced by Alejandro Saab in Marvel Rivals, who is known for his role in Genshin Impact, Blue Lock, WWE 2K22, and many others. The voice actor is credited with more than 400 titles on his IMDb page.
1v1 and other game mode changes in Marvel Rivals
With the release of Season 6, Marvel Rivals will remove the Zombies mode. In addition, NetEase will remove the Resource Rumble mode, which hasn’t been very popular. The mode will return in the future and will be readjusted for the 18v18 play.
On a positive note, the game developer is working on a new PvE mode that is expected to arrive by mid-2026.

Starting January 29, you will be able to challenge other players to 1v1 duels on the Times Square map. If you spend Units, your duel will also be broadcast on the big screen on the map.
Finally, NetEase will add a photo mode to Marvel Rivals with Season 6. Using this, you will be able to take fancy photos of your favorite characters by putting them in different poses and choosing filters.
New proficiency update and Lord rewards
Starting with Season 6 on Friday, you will be able to unlock free rewards by getting your favorite heroes to different proficiency levels. By leveling up heroes, you can unlock exclusive rewards for them, including dynamic avatars, nameplates, and titles. You can even unlock free Units with this new feature.

The new Marvel Rivals season will bring even more new content, but we will have to wait for NetEase to release official patch notes. For now, it’s clear that the game developer has worked hard to make the game enjoyable, and we can’t wait to try out Deadpool on Friday.
With the new season launching on January 16, don’t forget to use the leveling boost to complete your current Battle Pass. You can also unlock free Marvel Rivals skins for Magneto and Iron Man, which are set to expire on Friday. If you need more free cosmetics, check Marvel Rivals codes to quickly add them to your account.
