The upcoming Marvel Rivals update is set to arrive on Friday, January 16, and will bring a new season. The release of Season 6 is less than 24 hours away, and NetEase has revealed many new features that are coming with it. While the addition of Deadpool is undoubtedly a highlight, the game developer will add many more content, and even fix one of the most significant issues with the game.
Marvel Rivals launched in December 2024 and weighed under 50 GB on consoles and PCs. Now, the size has more than doubled, which has become a problem for many players with limited storage. Fortunately, NetEase has announced a fix for this issue, and it will be released on Friday.
What is the current size of Marvel Rivals?
On the last day of Season 5.5, Marvel Rivals weighs between 110 and 120 GB, depending on the system. Even on PlayStation 4, the game was initially 40 GB, but has ballooned to 70 gigs shortly after. The good news is that the fix is less than 24 hours away, and it’s a lifesaver.
With the launch of Season 6, the size of Marvel Rivals will be decreased to 91.6%. This represents an approximately a 17% reduction, which will come in handy for many players, especially those on a console.
This drastic change is NetEase’s attempt to address one of the biggest complaints that players have had, and it is certainly a step in the right direction. We can expect further reductions in the file size in the future, as Marvel Rivals will likely stay under 100 GB for a long time.
