Marvel Rivals has released hundreds of cosmetics since its release in December 2024. While skins are the most popular type of the cosmetics, players are also interested in emotes, MVP animations, and other items. A recent leak suggests that more players will get access to free skins, as NetEase is reportedly working on a deal with Microsoft.
If the leak is accurate, Xbox players who have a Game Pass subscription will get certain benefits, such as free skin trials. These benefits will likely extend to PC players who have an active subscription as well. Overwatch has similar Game Pass perks, making it a useful comparison.
Marvel Rivals could give free skins to Game Pass subscribers
Back in Season 3, NetEase released College Student Perks in Marvel Rivals. These perks allow students access to 10 skins and MVP animations every season. The upcoming Game Pass perks would likely be similar, although players would have to keep their subscription active to keep these benefits.
According to RivalsLeaks, a popular Marvel Rivals leaker on X, Game Pass subscribers will get a free trial for three skins. The leaker believes these perks will be similar to those in Overwatch, although the skins haven’t been revealed yet.
In Overwatch, Blizzard and Microsoft have several amazing perks, from exclusive skins to a Battle Pass XP boost. Adding these to Marvel Rivals would certainly be a great idea, one that could benefit both companies.

At the moment, it’s unknown if these Marvel Rivals perks will be available for every Game Pass tier. However, the good news is that Microsoft has cut the price of the monthly subscription. Game Pass Ultimate dropped from $29.99 to $22.99 a month, while PC Game Pass was lowered from $16.49 to $13.99.
In the meantime, NetEase has made several cosmetics available for players without paying, including a free skin for Thor. Furthermore, Marvel Rivals codes currently offer two skins that can be redeemed in less than a minute.
